Opening on Sunday April 9th to coincide with this year’s edition of the popular Prescott Bike Festival, the Bugatti Trust is curating a small exhibition dedicated to the Bugatti family’s exploration of bike and motorcycle design and engineering. With exhibits ranging from Carlo Bugatti’s extraordinary 19th century bicycle design to Ettore Bugatti’s type 72 single cylinder 10 ½ cc cycle motor engine he created in the 1940s, the Bugatti Trust will be open from 11am till 3pm on the Sunday of the Bike Festival free of charge to all Festival visitors and participants.

The Prescott Bike Festival is an annual fundraising event supporting the regional Blood Bike group, Severn Freewheelers and the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes. Severn Freewheelers, a registered charity, provide an essential out-of-hours medical courier service for the NHS transporting blood and other medical essentials. All members are volunteers and receive no recompense for their efforts. The Bugatti Trust hopes to add to the all-over celebration of extraordinary engineering which will be found in stunning examples in the paddock and on the track making their way through Pardon and Esses up the hill for a very special day at Prescott.

A number of Trust volunteers will be on site to guide visitors through the ‘Perfected Motorcycle’ display and the Trust’s permanent collection of original Bugatti cars and engines, parts, Rembrandt Bugatti sculptures, Carlo Bugatti furniture, historic drawings and photographs. Activity sheets and museum detective challenges will be available for junior visitors as well the chance to try out new digital archive access. The Bugatti Trust welcomes Robotics Team ‘Control Freaks’  for an Introduction to Robotics in the Trust on Saturday May 27th

The Bugatti Trust is supporting a young team of four Upper Sixth students in their bid to represent the UK at the 2018 VEX Robotics World Championships in the U.S.A. Currently studying A levels at the John Warner School in Hertfordshire, UK, James Cosgrove (builder), Carl White (programmer), Georgia d’ath (designer) and Chandler Walker (driver) have been competing as a team since 2013 when they qualified for their first world finals. They have since gone on to win a multitude of awards including four-time regional finalists, seven-time regional champions, judges award, design award, build award, excellence award, and the one they are most proud of, being UK National champions in 2016. They have qualified to the VEX World Championships in every year they have competed, and 2018 is the final year they will be allowed to compete. After that they will all have surpassed the age restriction which allows them to compete.
