Ettore Bugatti designed one of the first modern high-speed railway systems in the world. His first RAILCAR was tested near the Bugatti factory in Alsace, France in 1933.

In the 1920s to cross the Atlantic usually took at least 5 days. The age of safe, long distance flying was far in the future. Ettore Bugatti conceived an idea for an exclusive high-powered 8-passenger boat that would be able to cross from France to America in 50 hours.

During the First World War in France Ettore Bugatti designed a series of aero engines and in 1936 Bugatti proposed a number of land and air speed record projects.
