Eighth year of design awards and establishment of new award to highest first year student in aerospace, automotive or mechanical engineering courses

The Bugatti Trust presents annual Engineering and Design Awards to students at Coventry University

The Bugatti Trust’s long standing and continuing support for industrial design at Coventry University through its award scheme has now been extended to include a further award to the student achieving the highest first year results in one of the aerospace, automotive or mechanical engineering courses.

In November Bugatti Trust Chairman Hugh Conway was pleased to present Andrew Menage with his cheque and certificate for the Bugatti Trust Engineering Prize.

The Trust continues its support for industrial design and at an informal ceremony at the University Industrial Product Design Degree design show in June Trustee Barrie Price was delighted make presentations to students completing the course. First prize winner was Christopher Ager who provided for an innovative solution to the problem of operator fatigue with his design of a rotating cab for a fork lift truck. Second prize went to Borja Dopico for a futuristic noise cancelling system.

Mike Evatt, Associate Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering & Design said: "We continue to welcome the Bugatti Trust’s support. It undoubtedly provides great encouragement to our students.”

This is the eighth year that the Bugatti Trust has awarded prizes to Coventry University students and the first year it has been extended to engineering degree students. The University first came into contact with Bugatti in 1997 through Barrie Price, a co-founder of the Trust.
